World Environment Day 2022: Only One Earth

World Environment Day is observed on June 5 to raise awareness about the protection and to nurture of the environment that is helping us live. The day aims to encourage awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

World Environment Day has been a platform for raising awareness on environmental issues such as marine pollution, overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption, and wildlife crime.

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 to mark the opening of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. Another resolution, adopted by the General Assembly the same day, led to the creation of UNEP. It is hosted every year by a different city and commemorated with an international exposition through the week of June 5.

The World Environment Day 2022 theme is "Only One Earth". It calls for transformative changes to policies and choices to enable cleaner, greener, and sustainable living in harmony with nature. It will focus on the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature, and our possibilities for shifting to a greener lifestyle through both policies and individual choices.

The United Nations made people aware of it and promoted the environment through the campaign celebration. It is an effective annual campaign to positively gain public action and political attention. This day is a reminder of people’s power at the grass-root and community level to bring about positive change by making better choices individually and keeping a check on the government’s and corporations’ policies which damage our biosphere.

We belong to the environment, it is very important for everyone’s life because life is possible because of the environment. All human beings, animals, natural flora, trees, trees, weather, and climate are all contained in the environment. The environment not only works to maintain balance in the environment but also provides all the things necessary for life.
