Health Awareness Session-Women Empowerment Project, Mymensingh

On January 7th, 2018 on Women Empowerment Project conducted a Health Awareness Session. It was a joint event organised with the collaboration of local government of Gouripur Upazilla and ADRA Bangladesh.

The event was mainly on the discussion about health issues and to aware people specially on cleanliness and hygienic practices. This meeting was arranged in Shalihor Government Shelter Center. The Women Empowerment Project fully facilitated whole event. The program Chief Guest was Morgina Akter, UNO, Gouripur, Mymensingh and special guests were Alomgir Hossain (PIO,Gouripur, Mymensingh) ,Abdul Mannan (DPHE,Gouripur, Mymensingh) and Mofajjol Hossain,(Upozila Co.Officer,Gouripur, Mymensingh). The Event Chairmen was Anowar Hossain (Chairmen,Gouripur UP, Gouripur, Myemensingh).

More than 150 people attended the program. One member from each 125 family of beneficiaries was invited. Government officers, local elite persons also attended and enjoyed the program. At first there was discussion on health issues and primary health problems and how to minimise it. In this discussion UNO, PIO, DPHE, upozila cooperative officer, UP chairmen and from WEP agriculture supervisor & APM actively participated.

After the discussion ADRA Bangladesh WEP provided each participant’s one nail cutter and one soap to aware their health and Upozilla porishad provided one blanket for each participant. Total 125 participant received nail cutter, soap and blanket.

Through this event community people were able to know about hygienic practices to prevent health issues. People get benefitted by understanding about the necessity of cleanliness and hygiene.
