ADRA in Bangladesh Promotes Heath by Ensuring Proper Sanitation in Daulatpur
Sanitation refers to the safe collection, transportation, and dumping of human waste. Appropriate sanitation upholds health, and develops the quality of the environment and thus, the quality of life in a community. Inadequate sanitation infrastructure, poor hygienic practices, and unsafe drinking water destructively affect the health of numerous people in our country.
Community Empowerment Project (CEP) in Daulatpur, Manikganj organizes awareness-raising on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) through health sessions. Through groups, WASH promotion lessons are shared among the community people. CEP organizes training on health and hygiene so the vulnerable community can protect themselves from general diseases.
CEP distributes sanitary latrines according to area-specific needs. This helps with practicing the learning. The information and awareness related to sanitation are also shared. Installing tube wells have been an additional health service for the community.
